VINTAGE TILLEY LAMP CONVERTED TO ELECTRIC, Touch Sensor or switch
This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning piece of art. and we have adapted it to look as original as possible
The starting piece for this lamp was a 1960's Tilley paraffin lantern. The brass on this lamp has been lovingly polished. To prevent the need for further polishing we sealed in with 2 coats of clear lacquer. There are some blemishes in the fuel tank and tarnish marks to the glass holder but these just add to the character.
The top dome is in stunning Black just cleaned and has a lacquer finish now that will last for another 60 years !!
The glass is in good condition and original to the lamp, with no chips or cracks.
The centre of the lamp has been adapted by us to accept an antique style light fitting.
This was professionally wired with period 2 core vintage Black cable. The cable is a generous 1.2 metres long and is fitted with a 3 pin fused plug. The lamp.
To put the finishing touches to the light we have used a Eddison vintage look bulb. This gives a beautiful warm light and the filament is clearly visible when its turned on.
When lit the light looks amazing, casting great shadows as the light bulb glows through the original tilly lamp glass. The photos really don't do it any justice at all.
The light is very versatile and can either be used on a side table or it can be hung from its carrying handle.
This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!

Width - 18cm
Please be advised this is a vintage item, it bears a number of minor bumps and marks that it has gained over the last 60 years. Have a good look at the pictures as these really show the condition.
These Lamps do not last long!!!!
